What it costs
These are ranges, not quotes. What moves a price is the size of the door, whether parts are standard, and how much has to come apart to reach the problem.
Typical ranges in Mohave County
| Job | Typical | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Service call / diagnosis | $50–100 | often credited against the work |
| Torsion spring, single | $180–350 | parts plus labour |
| Torsion springs, pair | $250–500 | cheaper together than two visits |
| Cable replacement | $120–250 | usually both sides |
| Rollers, full set | $100–250 | nylon quieter than steel |
| Off-track correction | $150–350 | more if track or panel bent |
| Opener repair | $100–300 | sensors, board, gear kit |
| New opener installed | $350–700 | belt drive and backup at the top |
| Panel replacement | $250–800 each | matching older doors is often impossible |
| Complete new door | $900–3,000+ | size, insulation, windows |
What pushes a quote up
- Double doors. Heavier, bigger springs, more of everything.
- Non-standard springs. Most trucks carry common sizes; an unusual one means ordering.
- After hours. Same as any trade.
- Distance. Golden Valley, Dolan Springs and the outlying valleys carry travel time.
- Damage found underneath. A door forced while off track frequently has a bent track or creased panel that was not visible at first.
Where the false economy is
The other one is forcing an off-track door before the technician arrives. A straightforward realignment becomes a panel replacement, and on a door more than a few years old, matching that panel may not be possible at all — which turns a $200 repair into a new door.
Repair or replace
Springs, cables, rollers, tracks and openers are all serviceable parts on a sound door; replacing them is almost always cheaper than a new door. The case for replacement is when the panels are damaged, rusted or no longer made — or when you want insulation that the old door never had, which in a Kingman garage is a real comfort difference.
